30rds – 5.56x45 IMI 62gr. FMJBT M855 Ammo

Israeli Military Industries 62 Grain Penetrator Ammo Details

We tried Israeli wine once. Too sweet. But this 5.56x45 ammunition by IMI is sweet for all the right reasons – military quality, non-corrosive, loaded to tight specs and intensely reliable, it accompanies any AR-15 perfectly!

This is an M855 cartridge with a 62 grain penetrator bullet. Now, a bullet like this is going to attract a magnet, but that’s not because it has a bimetal jacket. Its tip is painted green to denote the steel in its core, which is there to strengthen the bullet for intact passage through sheet metal and other tough barriers. A lot of indoor ranges won’t let you take this ammo inside, but the penetrator bullet’s ability to split into two pieces during penetration of soft tissue does make it worthy of home defense applications.

This bullet’s FMJ totally encapsulates its partial steel core, so it will not touch your barrel or chamber. Its boat tail also reduces in-flight drag, enhances downrange velocities, and even provides some protection against wind deflection.

These 30 rounds’ cases are brand new brass, and they’re visibly gray in the areas where they were heat-treated during production. IMI’s sensitive primers do not produce corrosive residues once ignited, and as Boxers this ammo is good for reloading.

Shipped Fast, even with bad weather and COVID crap. Ammo is exactly what I wanted. They don't always have what I'm looking for, but hey, who does these days. Ammo to Go will be the first place I look for future needs.

In 50 years of shooting I have never used better ammunition. It burns clean, hits hard and actually makes me believe I'm shooting some of the best ammo in the world. I've bought it 4 times and will do so again.
