225rds – 22 LR Remington Subsonic 40gr. CPHP Ammo Details
Are you trying to go STEALTH MODE the next time you go hunting or target shooting? Then you don’t want supersonic 22 LR ammunition. You want the quiet stuff – the stealthy stuff – the Remington Subsonic Rimfire stuff, which leaves the sound barrier well enough alone! This round doesn’t achieve its subsonic 1,050 fps muzzle velocity by virtue of having a very heavy bullet. Forty grains is as average as average can be. Its powder is just a bit on the weaker side. But hey – at least that discards the accuracy-worsening effect of transonic destabilization altogether.
This round’s copper-plated hollow point may strike with less energy (e.g. 76 ft lbs at 50 yards) than a supersonic load. It’s still equipped to handle a varmint quite capably, however, as it connects with a nose cavity that is designed for terminal expansion.
This is the right ammo to choose for a suppressor! And it won’t disappoint if you want a softer report out of an unsuppressed gun, either.
