Then we’ve got the ammo you need to put your sniper’s rifle to the test: Hornady Match, featuring the famous Extremely Low Drag Match bullet!The ELD Match was developed after Doppler radar testing revealed that standard bullets’ polymer tips get deformed by aerodynamic friction. The Heat Shield tip tolerates extreme temperatures without deforming, thus assuring that the ELD Match always points a perfect meplat toward its target. This round’s concentric AMP jacket, aerodynamic jacket geometry and optimally angled boat tail are all also in service of boosting its ballistic coefficient as high as possible.
And it works. When this round’s bullet achieves a 2,975 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel, its G1 0.796/G7 0.401 BC will carry it to the 7mm PRC’s advertised maximum effective range of 910 yards without having to rise above the muzzle by more than 61”.
