Federal invented the 7mm BC. It only makes sense that they should crown that special Peak Alloy case with one of their nonpareil hunting bullets: the 170 grain Terminal Ascent. It is a phenomenally accurate bullet, which combines a deformation-resistant extra-thick jacketed base, optimized boat tail, drag-minimizing AccuGroove channels, and low-drag Slipstream tip to achieve 0.654 G1/0.325 G7 BC out of a 24” test barrel (20” test barrel: 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, 0.654 G1/0.327 G7 BC).

The shiny nickel-plated Terminal Ascent doesn’t just race across a flat trajectory. It also delivers the death blow: massive expansion courtesy of its rigid polymer tip and deep nose cavity, plus deep penetration courtesy of its thick copper shank and robust electrochemical bonding.
