A lot of our guys took home Arisaka Type 99 rifles as souvenirs from their trips to the South Pacific back in the 1940s. Whether you’d like to go hunting with your war trophy or you’ve been handed down an heirloom that deserves high quality ammo, this 7.7 Jap (aka 7.7×58mm Arisaka) round is going to suit you handsomely.This cartridge features a 174 grain projectile, a weight similar to what Japanese military specifications originally called for. A soft point, the bullet begins to expand shortly after impact to create a gaping wound channel in medium to large game. The bullet’s jacket will keep your old rifle’s bore cleaner, and further ensures that expansion occurs in a consistent pattern. This bullet’s core is bonded to its jacket so that together they can retain the weight needed to travel deeply within your target.
Norma has been around for over 100 years, and they know how to make high grade components. This round’s brass casing is ideal for handloading -- you can use a .303 British projectile since it shares so many traits with the Japanese caliber.
