20rds - 7.62x54R Silver Bear 203gr. SP Ammo Details
7.62x54R Silver Bear 203 Grain Soft Point Ammo – 20 Rounds
Silver Bear ammunition is manufactured at the Barnaul Machine Plant located in Barnaul, Russia. One of the largest manufacturers of Russian ammo, this facility is best known for producing high-quality loads for the Russian military. Deriving its name from the highly-polished zinc-plated steel casings, Silver Bear ammo is designed to prevent corrosion and extend shelf-life, making these loads perfect for long-term storage. Zinc-plated steel casings offer all the characteristics of nickel-plated brass, including high visibility for low light loading and smooth, easy feeding, function, and extraction.
This package contains 20 rounds of Silver Bear 7.62x54R ammunition. Each of these economical rounds is loaded with a 203 grain soft point projectile. Designed to expand on impact, these soft point rounds are well-suited for self-defense or hunting medium size game including whitetail deer and wild hogs.
This ammunition is factory fresh, non-corrosive, and Berdan primed. Each round produces a consistent muzzle velocity of 2306 feet per second.

OUTSTANDING RIFLE ROUND. CAN NOT BEAT THE PRICE. NOT ONE BAD THING TO SAY ABOUT SILVER BEAR BRAND.

Works fine in my Tokarev SVT-40 and my Finnish M-39. I've found it to be just as accurate as any surplus I've tried, if not more so. One thing, the cases are actually zinc plated, not nickel.

Excellent ammo, in the service I always shot 40 out of 40 and expert with M-9, 50cal, aka ma dude, M-19 and several other cool tools of the trade, at 300 yards with my 7.62x54R Sniper Rifle just with open sights not even using the scope in hitting the silo wet dead center mass, targets with my scope dead center, this is by far an exceptional round, I don't like having to track deer I shoot weather its 100 yards or 700 yards, I zero in and always hit them just below the back of the head about 4 inches down when this 203 grain bullet hits them, that's were they drop, one shot one kill, excellent deer round I highly recommend.

I like the silver bear as it cycles smoothly in my mosin nagant rifle. The price is the best of any I found.

This round is absolutely A..MA..Zing..Lol. It passed ALL my expectations, except accuracy.. It shot a 3.5" group @ 200 meters, which is really Not all that bad as I think about it...Lol. Out of a 10 shot group 2452/fps on the high, 2338/fps on the low. Chrono was set @ 10 meters, shots taken from seated pos. to simulate *TreeStand*... target was standard blk/wht/paper/200 meter;zero... Considering It averaged over 2400 fps from a M44/*ATI*Monte Carlo stock/*UTG*4-16x56 AccuShot, I'd say this round is MORE than capable to take Grizzlies inside of 150 meters..!!!

Great ammo. Cycles smooth in my Mosin. Shoots accurately and puts deer down quick. My buck made it 15 yards before going down.
Only downsides are the non-reloadable steel case and that it has a steel core behind the soft point. The range I shoot at checks certain calibers for steel core and these attracted a magnet.
These are a non-issue if you have your own property, but i thought it worth warning people who need soft point ammo for the range. -

The ammo got to my house in under 48 hours! ATG is awesome! Bought this after reading all the good reviews on the site and i have to say this stuff is hard hitting, awesome, pretty clean, and cycled and went bang everytime. Made dust out of solid cinder blocks at 100 yards. Great buy for the price.

Shipped quickly, ATG doesn't mess around. Barnaul makes some awesome ammo, but my M91/30 couldn't hit anything I aimed at from 30 (!) yards away with ten round I put in it. I've heard carbine-length mosin-nagants do really good with this 203gr. stuff, so I'll probably save the rest for when I get an M44. Nice ammo, just doesn't mix well with my rifle.

Good, solid, Soviet Bloc ammunition. 203 gr bullets are hard hitting and will take down any game you will find in North America. I found it to be quite accurate in my PLS-54C and Mosin-Nagant 91/30 rifles. I have Brown Bears too, but the Silver Bears seem to be cleaner.

Very happy with this ammunition. Ordered 200 rounds to try it out and it's very accurate in my polish stlye Draganov. I will be ordering more!!!! Should be very good for any North American game out to 300 yards.

Went to the range today after putting a 2x7x32 scout scope and nc star mount on it. At 100 yds i put 4 rds and only 2 holes in a 3 1/2 inch bullseye off of a steady rest NXT. Must put loc tite on it or it will come lose.If you do your part you Mosin Nagant will do its part. Mine is a like new 1935 Tula 91/30 and the recoil is very nice and shoots clean. I love the 7.62x54R. It is one of the workhorse rds that can do just about anything you want it to do. The 203 gr SP is a great game buster for anything but a grizz. That's what my 300 Weatherby is for.

Very happy with this ammunition. Ordered 100 rounds to try it out and it's very accurate in both my M44 and 91/30. I'll be ordering more to go along with regular surplus.

I love this stuff. Reasonable accuracy (not to be compared to handloads) with appropriate kick for heavy bullet. Many sore shoulders caused by this bad-boy round.

I've always been a fan of the "bear" series of ammunition, Silver Bear being my favorite for my old Makarov and my Mosin-Nagant rifles. Have fun, shoot safe and wear ear protection when shooting this. -

Fast, hard kicking accurate ammo is what this is, however a magnet will stick to it. It was what it said it was, awesome ammo!

Nice ammo! Flys and cycles just as good as the Sellier and Bellot I've been shooting @ a much lower cost.

This is by far some of the best softpoint ammunition I have seen and fired for the Mosin Nagant family of bolt action rifles. I was very happy with both the FPS and knock down energy of this ammunition. I use this paticular ammunition in my Mosin Nagant M-38 Carbine that I have built for small to avarage game hunting. At 203gr. This round will get the job done hands down!

Very clean, accurate, and well priced. Plus it carries the force of a sledge-hammer! I like the sealant for moisture...good feature for up in Northern Arizona. And boy does it pack a punch!

All in all very happy with this ammunition. Took down my first black bear with this round! If you are looking for a good quality hunting ammunition for your Mosin Nagant, this is one of the best!

Great job Silver Bear!

Thank you Ammunition To Go!!!
This ammo cycles very smoothly in my mosin nagant rifle, even smoother than some brass surplus ammo I've tried. I love the nickle-plated cases, too bad they're non-reloadable steel undernieth. Although it's a heavy-weight softpoint slug, this ammo isn't very powerful compared to other 7.62x54r loads I've shot, carrying less than 1600 foot pounds out to 200yds. I wouldn't say this is good for hunting elk unless it's practically leaning against your muzzle, but it sure would stop a deer or prairie critter dead in its tracks.
