It’s like Brown Bear produces this 7.62x39 ammunition with you specifically in mind!This AK-47 round is a big money saver thanks to its steel casing and its FMJ bullet’s bimetal jacket. Together they drastically cut down on the amount of valuable copper Brown Bear needs to make the round, and you’re going to see that pleasantly reflected in its price tag.
You accept a few tradeoffs when you take advantage of budget-friendly steel. This round’s case is not suitable for handloading, and may permit more fouling of an AK’s action. And because its bullet magnetic, some indoor ranges may prohibit you from firing this ammo. But you gotta take the good with the bad!
This is a subsonic round. Its bullet is a lot heavier than you usually see in an AK round: 196 grains instead of 122 to 124 grains. As the result it’s a lot slower coming out of the muzzle, so it’s going to give you a steeper trajectory but also a noticeably quieter report.
