20rds – 6.5 Japanese Bannerman 139gr. SPBT Ammo
Bannerman 139 Grain Soft-Point Boat Tail (SP-BT) Ammo Details
Paulo Coelho once wrote “The ship is safest when it is in port, but that is not what ships were built for.” He may as well have been referring to your 6.5×50mmSR Arisaka rifle: now an antique, but still a rifle and therefore very much deserving of being brought out during your next hunt. And here is just the 6.5 Japanese ammunition you need for the job. It is loaded with the cartridge’s classic 139 grain projectile, so you’re likely already familiar with its ballistic performance if you’re only used to firing ball ammo. The bullet’s boat tail helps it streak through the air across a flatter trajectory, and its lead core’s unjacketed tip enables rapid positive expansion following impact.
Bannerman loaded this ammo in the U.S., although its reloadable cases came straight out of Serbia. That’s where they were made by Prvi Partizan: one of the largest producers of 6.5 Japanese brass on the planet.
Noncorrosive. Nonmagnetic. Suitable for rifles manufactured as early as 1897, so long as they are in good condition!
