20rds – 45 Long Colt Remington Core-Lokt 237gr. JHP Ammo Details

Remington originally offered their Core-Lokt Handgun series ammunition in four calibers: 10mm, 357 Mag, 41 Mag, and 44 Mag. But then they realized they were leaving out the coolest handgun hunters of them all: i.e. folks who use 45 Long Colt. They quickly rectified their error, as evidenced by the beautiful deer/hog ammo you now see before you.

This cartridge is loaded with a 237 grain bullet: not overly heavy, but still capable of effectively deep penetration courtesy of its pepperier-than-average 850 fps muzzle velocity and robust copper jacket and lead core. The JHP’s flat nose profile hits with jarring force and stamps out a wide entry wound. It proceeds to treat the quarry even more roughly as its jacket rim splits apart and yields to wide-diameter terminal expansion.

Not all of Remington’s Arkansas-made ammunition features nickel-plated brass cases. That makes these rounds special, and accounts for why they stay untarnished when exposed to the elements and slip so smoothly out of a chamber once emptied.
