20rds - 40 S&W Corbon 135gr. HP Ammo

20rds - 40 S&W Corbon 135gr. HP Ammo Details

This is 40 S&W Corbon 135gr. Hollow Point Ammo. Like no other, Corbon's JHP loads have proven stopping power. Their JHP loads come loaded with higher velocity and more energy values then their competitors. What you'll get is a bullet traveling faster, but on impact the higher velocity will cause the hollow point to expand into A mushroom shape dispersing its energy into the target. Energy dispersal is the key to COR-BON's proven stopping power.

I have tested this ammo on ballistic gelatin. Expanded to a average of .91 with serious fragmentation a loss of 30 to 40 % of weight with a average penetration of min of 9 inches to 11 inches. It hits like a 357 mag just like the hammer of Thor.

In reply to the previous reviewer, keep in mind that FBI, law enforcement in general have different requirements. As a private citizen interested in self defense, I am not too concerned about this round's ability to penetrate auto glass or bodies. I do worry about over penetration.

Then consider most shooting situations occur w/in 10' many inside 5'. Also, I only carry this in my Glock 27- very short barrel= velocity loss. It's been a while since I did this and I know it's not very scientific, but I fired these into a press of wet newspaper and got very little fragmentation but did get pretty reliable and impressive expansion. I know a new generation of bullets have been developed. But I have been confident of these for many years. I am satisfied to continue with them.

As a footnote- I carry the 150gr or 165gr in my G23.

Will often show serious fragmentation, thus reducing penetration. Doesn't pass F.B.I standards. With that said, I still wouldn't want to be hit by one.
