This ammunition is manufactured by Hornady, an American company with approximately seven decades of experience designing innovative projectiles and assembling custom ammunition. This particular load uses a 300-grain Dangerous Game Expanding (DGX) projectile which has a lead core with a thick steel jacket complemented with a copper outer jacket. The bullet is also equipped with a toothed cannelure at its center a flat, exposed lead surface at its head. As a result, this bullet penetrates deep into thick-skinned game before experiencing a controlled rate of mushrooming expansion in order to promote faster bleeding and efficient energy transfer.
