Hornady’s famous XTP (Extreme Terminal Performance) jacketed hollow point projectiles are engineered for reliable expansion at a wide range of velocities. These proprietary bullets are built around a swaged lead core for uniform density and increased in-flight balance. This core is surrounded by a drawn gilding metal jacket that varies in thickness down the length of the bullet. This design helps control expansion and provides a major benefit over bullets with uniform jacket thickness.

The jacket also thoroughly encapsulates the nose of the projectile. With no exposed lead, the hollow point cavity functions in modern semi-automatic pistols and performs properly upon impact.
