This cartridge’s 150 grain soft point is considerably more technologically advanced than any caveman’s spear point, though. The Hornady InterLock’s secant ogive geometry has the optimal bearing surface for engagement with the rifling, as well as the low-drag boat tail profile it needs to race downrange while conserving as much velocity as possible in the process.

The InterLock’s one-piece alloyed lead core and tough copper jacket are mechanically locked together in two separate places to promote high weight retention. Its tapered jacket’s thin rim is weakened by a symmetrical array of interior grooves that help it expand fast and wide immediately following impact.

Ammo Inc. readies the InterLock for fast-paced hunting action by loading it with a premium reloadable brass case, with clean-burning propellant and a sensitive primer to send it on its way.
