This round’s polymer tipped dynamo does a real good job of coasting downrange while stirring up as little drag as possible. It’s got a boat tail. It’s got a secant ogive profile. It’s got Hornady’s characteristically concentric copper jacket. It’s got a G1 BC of .48 – not remotely shabby for a 180 grain .30 cal!

If you cut an SST in half vertically, you would see two places where its jacket is embedded into its core: the InterLock ring, and the cannelure. Both do their part to minimize core/jacket separation during high-velocity impact. The SST’s tip catalyzes devastating expansion as well, so you can look forward to felling your quarry quick and humanely.
