If you’re trying to reach precision paradise with your 300 Norma Magnum rifle, don’t go down to the general store and purchase the first ammo you see sitting on the shelf. Order yourself a few boxes of Norma Match instead!

This cartridge’s 230 grain bullet is no ordinary hollow point boat tail. It is the Berger Hybrid Target, which gives you the advantages of hybrid and tangent ogives without the shortcomings of either! In addition to its decreased sensitivity to seating depth and low-drag frontal profile, the Hybrid Target features Berger’s remarkably concentric J4 Precision Jacket, a voidless and rearward-situated solid lead core, and a boat tail which helps keep the bullet more stable as it transitions from super- to subsonic velocity. You won’t have to worry too much about transonic destabilization, though, because the G1 0.743/G7 0.367 BC projectile shouldn’t go subsonic until it reaches approximately 1,950 yards (assuming it previously reached its posted muzzle velocity of 2,985 fps).

Two caveats to keep in mind with this ammo. First, the Hybrid Target is not designed for hunting – it will not deliver terminal expansion like the Berger VLD. Second, the 300 Norma Magnum cartridge is not compatible with other “300” rifles. In other words, do not order this ammo for a 300 Win Mag, 300 Wby Mag, 300 Savage or 300 Blackout rifle!
