This ammo will not work in 270 Win or 270 WSM rifles.We know that 270 Weatherby Magnum ammunition can be a little hard to come by. That’s why we’re proud to offer some of the best of the best: Weatherby’s own Wyoming-made Select series hunting cartridges, which are loaded with accurate and deadly InterLock projectiles by Hornady!
This cartridge’s 130 grain projectile scooted out of Weatherby’s test barrel at a velocity of 3,350 fps. Its 0.409 G1 ballistic coefficient is quite high for a soft point, which the bullet owes to its low-drag secant ogive profile, narrow tip, concentric jacket and flat base. Zero in at 200 yards through 1.5” high sights, and elevation above the bore line should max out at around 1.2”, with approximately -5.3” drop at 300 yards. If there’s a 10 mph wind blowing in at a right angle, then it should push the bullet to the side by just 2.6”.
The InterLock bullet showcases the InterLock ring, as well as a cannelure which similarly locks its one-piece lead core and copper jacket together. These features promote higher weight retention and resultant deeper penetration. The InterLock’s exposed lead tip and grooved, tapered jacket are designed to trigger broad expansion following impact across a wide range of velocities.
