This round’s 62 grain ELD-VT would serve you well if you were only shooting for precision. Like all of Hornady’s Extremely Low Drag series bullets, it features the Heat Shield: a polymer tip with a meplat that is specially designed to maximize drag uniformity and minimize dispersion, and which cannot deform while it’s cooked by air friction. That plus the ELD-VT’s AMP jacket, boat tail, and rearward situated core all pay off in the form of scads and scads of accuracy!

A great varmint bullet won’t just seek, of course. It will also destroy, which the ELD-VT does by slamming the base of its Heat Shield into the flat face of its lead core on impact.
