Winchester Ammunition 40 Grain Polymer Tipped Ammo Details

Varmint X loads combine Winchester’s tradition of effective performance with the latest cutting-edge technology to give shooters the advantage over varmints and predators. Whether you’re hunting squirrels, groundhogs, coyotes, or prairie dogs, Varmint X produces quick humane kills.



Each new production .223 Remington cartridge is loaded with a 40 grain sleek, polymer-tipped bullets that are explosive on impact. The special polymer tip increases ballistic performance to maximize long-range accuracy, while promote rapid expansion upon target impact. These proprietary bullets also feature a lead core surrounded by a thin alloy jacket engineered with a sidewall profile that produces rapid and explosive fragmentation.



Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 3700 feet per second, each round produces a muzzle energy of 1216 foot pounds. This ammunition is 100 percent non-corrosive, boxer primed, reloadable, brass cased, and packed in 20 round boxes.
