200rds – 45-70 Govt. Federal Power-Shok 300gr. SP Ammo

Federal Ammunition 300 Grain Soft-Point (SP) Ammo Details

We wish that ammo grew on trees. We’d plant a whole grove of 45-70 Government trees, and welcome all of our customers to come over and pick their own hunting loads.

Sadly, that wish is stupid. In reality, 45-70 Govt. ammo has to come from factories – like the one Federal Premium has expertly operated in Anoka, MN for over a hundred years!

This handy cartridge will knock down any medium game critter you could rest your rifle’s sights on. The 300 grain soft point bullet features a hard copper jacket and flat nose profile that ensure smooth operation in any lever-action long gun. Good for revolvers, too! The SP delivers a reasonably flat trajectory (1,850 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” test barrel; 0.289 G1 ballistic coefficient), and terminates its flight by dishing out quick and lethal terminal expansion.

Not all 45-70 ammo actually comes from factories. If you’d like to handload your own straight-walled beauts, then Federal’s new production brass-cased noncorrosive Boxer-primed ammo will give you just the shells you need for the job!
