Federal makes this ammo for peaceable purposes: training, as opposed to defending. Granted, this is the 10mm we’re talking about here. You could make its bullet out of cotton balls and it’ll still leave a big mark. That being said, the best use for a non-expanding FMJ will always be target practice.

This round’s 180 grain FMJ features a true copper jacket. Is it good for a ported barrel/compensator? Yes. Does it contain any steel? No! Will it blast out of a 5” barrel at a rate of 1,200 fps and reach 50 yards with approximately 475 ft lbs of striking energy? Indubitably. Does it provide a reasonably close facsimile of a similar defense load’s performance? Affirmative!
