Federal Ammunition 180 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

Are you a high-volume shooter? Then we’ll yell the following as loud as we’re able: FEDERAL PREMIUM CHAMPION 10MM AUTO AMMUNITION RULES!

Federal makes this ammo for peaceable purposes: training, as opposed to defending. Granted, this is the 10mm we’re talking about here. You could make its bullet out of cotton balls and it’ll still leave a big mark. That being said, the best use for a non-expanding FMJ will always be target practice.

This round’s 180 grain FMJ features a true copper jacket. Is it good for a ported barrel/compensator? Yes. Does it contain any steel? No! Will it blast out of a 5” barrel at a rate of 1,200 fps and reach 50 yards with approximately 475 ft lbs of striking energy? Indubitably. Does it provide a reasonably close facsimile of a similar defense load’s performance? Affirmative! Will we stop using question-and-answer formatting for rhetorical effect at this immediate point in the product description?

This ammo was made in Minnesota by Federal Premium’s happy little ammo elves. They charged it up with high-quality and assuredly noncorrosive Boxer primers, as well as new-as-new-can-be reloadable brass cases.
