Browning 40 Grain Lead Round Nose (LRN) Ammo Details
Do you want a lot of 22s? Then you want a whole case of PRO22 22 LR ammo, which Browning introduced to the market in ‘22. This cartridge doesn’t have an expanding hollow point bullet, and its modest 1,085 fps muzzle velocity doesn’t deliver a relatively flat trajectory. But contrary to what you may think, a subsonic round like this supplies better accuracy! When a projectile’s in-flight velocity goes from supersonic to subsonic, it becomes “transonic.” At this phase the bullet loses stability, which makes its future trajectory far less predictable. But by avoiding becoming transonic at any point, a PRO22 round always lets you know what to expect of its long-range performance.
This ammo’s consistent 40 grain lead round nose bullets are crimped into their cases. That prevents recoil from jarring a bullet out of its original seating depth, so you can rest assured each round will meet the rifling in the same exact position. Browning’s ammo is loaded in Illinois with trusty primers and propellant, as well as the brass smooth cycling demands.
