Remington Ammunition 40 Grain Copper-Plated Hollow-Point (CPHP) Ammo Details
A lot of folks think the higher the muzzle velocity, the flatter and more accurate the bullet trajectory. But that’s not always the case! When its velocity transfers from supersonic to subsonic, a bullet picks up a wobble which destabilizes it and compromises its accuracy. But if a bullet is already subsonic when it comes out of the muzzle, it can’t suffer the came fate! This 22 LR cartridge by Remington is all about accuracy. Its bullet is a normal weight at 40 grains, but its propellant is only powerful enough to deliver a 1,050 fps muzzle velocity (75 fps slower than the speed of sound) out of a rifle’s barrel (and slower in pistols). To be sure, low velocity 22 LR like this may not cycle a semi-automatic, but it makes up for that by delivering an extremely consistent trajectory every time you let the firing pin drop.
This round’s bullet is a copper-plated hollow point. Its plating will reduce lead buildup in the barrel, as well as in barrel ports and suppressors. Its nose cavity will treat any lil’ critter to a small yet deadly dose of terminal expansion.
