Military Surplus 71 Grain Frangible Ammo Details

This ammunition is: (A) magnetic, (B) noncorrosive, and (C) incompatible with firearms conventionally referred to as “9mm” (e.g. S&W M&P, Springfield Hellcat, Taurus G2, etc.).

The nation of Slovakia originally purchased this ammunition from Hungarian manufacturer MFS shortly after its manufacture in 2012. Just three years later, Slovakian law enforcement agencies would switch over from CZ82 (9x18mm Makarov) to CZ75 (9x19mm Luger) handguns, which meant they had no more use for the very same ammo we’re now offering for sale!

This round’s bullet is a bit out of the ordinary. It is frangible: designed to disintegrate upon collision with a hard surface, e.g. steel. But “frangies” aren’t just great for training because they pose a lower risk of splash-back. They are also lead-free, which is of natural benefit to shooters who are training indoors.

American-made frangible bullets are normally made of sintered copper. MFS made this ammo’s bullets out of sintered iron, however, which, as previously mentioned, will attract a magnet. Plan on which ranges you bring this LE surplus to accordingly!
