1000rds – 223 Rem Lake City 55gr. FMJ Ammo

Lake City 55 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

Do you want military-grade ammunition – but don’t necessarily want to join the military at this point in time? No problem! We’ve got 223 Rem by the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, which is the same operation that supplies materiel to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces (maybe not the Space Force – we don’t believe primers work in the vacuum of outer space).

This cartridge features a real simple bullet. It’s 55 grains, which is the standard weight for 5.56 M193 as well. It’s a full metal jacket, which consists of a gilding metal shell wrapped around a solid lead core. You can’t expect terminal expansion from a solid point bullet like this, which simply means you could do a lot better for hog or deer. But you can expect this ammo to fail to attract a magnet, because the FMJ is completely devoid of steel.

This ammo is loaded with noncorrosive Boxer primers and new production reloadable brass cases. Pay no mind to the cases’ mottled appearance. They are only cosmetically discolored because Lake City doesn’t waste time and effort polishing their military-grade brass cases.
