Personally tested this ammo using the Glock 42, 10% ClearBallistic gel, and my chronograph. Following the protocols set forth by Marshall and Sanaow in their book, Handgun Stopping Power, from a test distance of 10 feet, outside temperature 43 F, I performed both bare and denim (4 layers of Wrangler blue jeans) tests. In the bare gel, the round penetrated just over 12 inches. This is the sweet spot for penetration distance in Marshall and Sanow's book. Expansion was good. In the denim test, the round over penetrated the FBI 16 inch block, which would be a fail according to Marshall and Sanow. This presents too much legal liability, and the kinetic energy of the bullet is not totally deposited in the threat. Reliability was good. There are better 380 rounds available for self defense. Not recommended.
