Speer 125 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details

This 38 Special +P round by Speer is going to make your snubnosed revolver very happy, because it features a 125 grain Gold Dot projectile. The bullet’s core and jacket are bonded together, and therefore are all but unable to separate as they puncture a variety of common barriers. Heavy clothing and wallboard do virtually nothing to a Gold Dot’s weight, and even steel and safety glass do little to harm its ability to penetrate its target deeply. The Gold Dot’s jacket is exceptionally uniform owing to the electrochemical process that created it, and its hollow point nose cavity is precision engineered to quickly expand to the right width for insurmountable stopping power.

A self-defense round must be reliable, and this one is in spades thanks to its uber-sensitive CCI primer, select propellant, and precision drawn brass casing. The casing further wears nickel plating to safeguard it from corrosion, and nickel’s superior lubricity further improves extraction from a cylinder as well as ejection from a semi-automatic.
