50rds – 223 Rem Remington UMC 55gr. FMJ Ammo

Remington Ammunition 55 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

This is not USMC ammo. That belongs to the United States Marine Corps, and they have a strict criteria for who gets to fire their ammo. This is UMC ammo – the brand name Remington puts on their tried and true range loads!

This 223 Rem ammo does offer functionally identical performance to the 5.56 M193 that the Marines use, however. Each round sports a full metal jacket (which Remington refers to as a “metal case”). The bullet possesses a solid lead core and steel-free gilding metal shell to ensure smooth feeding in semi-automatics. The bullet’s 55 grain weight gives it a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps (20” test barrel; expect a lower muzzle velocity if your rifle’s barrel is shorter).

Remington’s “R-P” headstamped cases are pure brass and reloadable. This new production (not military surplus) ammo’s Boxer primers are noncorrosive. Its bullets are also nonmagnetic, so even the world’s pickiest rangemaster can’t give you any guff when you bring this ammo to their range.
