Is there any one “best” handgun cartridge? That’s hard to say. There are so many factors to consider, such as ballistic efficiency, accuracy, sectional density, potential for terminal expansion, barrel longevity, and on and on and on. But there is no handgun cartridge more AMERICAN than the 45 ACP – and in our book that’s the only criterion that truly matters.

Here is the American-made 45 ACP ammunition you need for serious training drills, serious competition training, or easygoing backyard plinking fun. Browning loads these cartridges in accordance with the 45 ACP’s classic specifications, complete with nonmagnetic full metal jacket projectiles. The 230 grain FMJ won’t exactly treat its target to a gentle kiss after it has torn out of the barrel at a rate of 835 feet per second, although its solid point round nose profile does prohibit it from terminal expansion. That same profile does assure reliable feeding, however, and its FMJ’s rigid copper-alloy shell only makes this round more reliable in a semi-auto.
