PMC Ammunition 170 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details

These lightweight 10mm rounds from PMC are built specifically with carry and personal defense in mind! Each of these cartridges is assembled using a reloadable brass casing, a clean-igniting Boxer primer, and a sloped-wall jacketed hollow-point (JHP) projectile. This JHP profile features a wide mouth, skinny rim, and skived jacket border for reliable expansion at high impact speeds. When a bullet expands during entry into a target it creates a larger wound cavity, deposits more energy into vital zones, and does not exit the target with any probability of causing collateral damage.

All of those factors are intended to stop a threat and bring a dangerous situation to a quick close. This particular load uses a 170 grain JHP bullet which is lighter for the 10mm Auto caliber but offers a flat trajectory and very little drop out to long distance. Combine the lightweight bullet with the relatively low muzzle velocity of 1,200 feet-per-second, and shooters will find that this round recoils quite pleasantly when compared to standard loads. This increase in control aides faster follow-up shots and contributes to more devastating accuracy.

PMC ammunition is made in South Korea under a completely self-sufficient munitions program. With all components produced in-house and kept under tight watch, PMC has netted an international reputation for quality products in sporting varieties, defensive use, and a NATO military supply.

Ballistic Gel Testing

We thought it'd be fun to take a handful of these PMC 10mm loads and test them using ballistic gel. So, we grabbed a Glock 29 pistol (3.78" barrel) and fired 5 rounds through a 4-layer cloth barrier and into ballistic gel. You'll see the results below for PMC's base-level JHP 10mm load as well as how it stacks up to other options out there.
