This 450 Marlin cartridge by Hornady is crowned with a 325 grain LEVERevolution FTX projectile. The bullet features the Nebraskan manufacturer’s patented Flex Tip, which heightens its ballistic coefficient in flight and compresses into its core upon impact in order to initiate violent expansion, even at lower velocities. Because the Flex Tip is ever so slightly pliable this round is safe to load in a rifle’s tubular magazine, within which it will not cause a dangerous misfire.

This round’s bullet further features an InterLock ring, which locks its high antimony lead core and heavy, concentric jacket together during penetration to prevent their separation and promote ideal weight retention. The bullet’s secant ogive profile noticeably flattens its trajectory as well.

This round’s propellant provides maximum muzzle velocity without raising its chamber pressure outside of conventional levels, and its brass casing is fresh from the factory and able to withstand being fired several times.
