Each of these new production .405 Winchester cartridges features a 300 grain Hornady Interlock soft point projectile. “Accurate, Deadly, and Dependable,” Hornady’s traditional Interlock soft points feature exposed lead tips for controlled expansion and hard-hitting terminal energy transfer. Perfect for large game, including elk, moose, and bear, the unique InterLock design of these proprietary bullets keep the core and jacket locked solid during expansion. The result is effective mass and energy retention. These bullets are also made with a secant ogive design, one of the most ballistically efficient projectile profiles ever developed, making them highly accurate, even at longer distances.

Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 2200 feet per second, each round generates 3224 foot pounds of muzzle energy. This non-corrosive ammunition is boxer primed, brass cased, fully reloadable, and comes packed in 20-round boxes.

Have used this exact .405 round on moose and elk in late November here in Alberta and the hand of God effect it has upon impact is amazing.. No tracking required, no bullets ever recovered as they could be literally heard smacking trees after exiting 1200 pounds of venison..
