The 30-06 may have been developed for military applications, but it’s now enjoying a comfy retirement in the hands of American hunters. Fiocchi’s Field Dynamics line of ammunition is ideal for hunting any kind of medium game – including deer – and it’s not priced so dear that you wouldn’t want to use it to zero in a scope, too!

This cartridge is armed with Fiocchi’s 180 grain pointed soft point. Its sharp meplat, aerodynamic profile and 2,700 fps muzzle velocity grant this bullet a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.452. That’s why its trajectory only has to arch by about 2” when it’s zeroed at 200 yards (assuming a 1.5” sight height), and also why it hits a 650-yard target with nearly 1,000 ft lbs of energy!

The PSP saves its best trick for last. As the bullet’s exposed soft lead core flattens down, it will rapidly mushroom and tumble around to track a devastating wound channel through soft tissue.

Fiocchi’s American-made 30-06 features great brass that you’ll want to hang onto for handloading, as well as precisely paired primers and powder to guarantee consistent recoil and ballistic performance.
