This is corrosive ammunition. Its primers contain chemicals that produce hygroscopic salts on ignition. Such salts attract moisture, which means your rifle will be destroyed by rust unless you give it a special cleaning once your range day is over.

This 198 grain full metal jacket cartridge bears the initials “PCH” on its brass case’s headstamp. That indicates that it was produced by the Greek Powder and Cartridge Co. of Athens around 1940. It may go without saying, but this is very old ammunition. It may be dusty and otherwise look like it’s over 80 years old, although our inspection has led us to conclude that it’s ready to rock and roll.
