80rds – 12 Gauge Fiocchi Low Recoil 2-3/4" 9 Pellets #1 Buckshot Ammo in Field Box Details

Recoil. It’s inescapable thanks to Newton's third law of physics, but that doesn’t mean you can’t design a 12 Gauge home defense shotshell to produce less of it. That’s just what Fiocchi did with this ammo!

This shell’s got a couple of key features that soften its felt recoil. First, its muzzle velocity is relatively low at 1,150 fps. Second, its shot column weighs about 0.83 ounces instead of the usual 1.1 ounces. Less velocity and less mass equal less recoil!

This shell’s gentle kick won’t just let you fire more comfortably. It will also decrease the amount of muzzle flip you encounter, which will reduce the amount of time you have to spend restoring your aim on target after firing a shot.

This shell’s low-recoil performance does mean it inflicts less damage to its target. That said, a #1 buckshot pellet is still due to punch a 0.3” diameter hole through a soft medium. And because the round is loaded with nine pellets of #1 buck, its shot column’s combined muzzle energy is about 1,070 ft lbs – still more than three times the recommended minimum for defensive applications.

Fiocchi loads their shotgun shells in the great state of Missouri with reliable primers and fast-burning powder. They packaged this ammunition in a plastic field box – perfect if you like keeping your ammo stash nice and orderly.
