800rds – 7.62x54r Sellier & Bellot Military Surplus 1989 Production 148gr. FMJ Ammo in Hermetically Sealed Case *Corrosive* Details
Looks like your next batch of 7.62x54r ammunition was made back in 1989! Sellier & Bellot produced this ammo for Czechoslovakia’s military. Czechoslovakia may no longer exist, but its military surplus is in decent condition thanks to its hermetic packaging. You get 40 boxes of ammo when you order the 55-pound sealed case! This ammo’s 148 grain full metal jacket projectiles will attract a magnet. That’s because they contain steel, which should only be a problem if you bring it to a range that says no to magnetic ammo. The FMJ won’t expand if it slaps into a deer, so we’d advise using it for target practice instead of hunting.
This ammo’s not unlike modern Russian production thanks to its steel cases and Berdan primers. The non-reloadable cases are coated in lacquer for added protection against moisture in storage and out in the field. But please take care, because this ammo’s corrosive primers will destroy your Mosin-Nagant if you don’t clean it with boiling water, Ballistol, or some other solution that removes hygroscopic residue.
