Glaser Safety Slug 80 Grain Pre-Fragmented Ammo Details

Glaser Safety Slugs were developed in 1974 specifically for U.S. Sky Marshals who needed handgun loads suitable for use on airplanes. Designed to provide the perfect balance of fragmentation and penetration, Glaser Safety Slugs are also perfect for civilian personal protection. These rounds offer an extra margin of safety in highly populated areas, and has become a popular choice for the "house gun" stored in the bedside nightstand.

This ammo is specially designed to easily break apart upon contact with interior walls, dumping energy rather than proceeding unhindered into an adjoining room to potentially injure innocent bystanders. A safer, more practical option for personal protection in close quarter areas like apartment complexes and office buildings, these rounds prevent dangerous ricochet and soft tissue overpenetration.

This package contains 6 rounds of Glaser .38 Super Auto ammunition. Each round is loaded with an 80 grain fragmenting projectile. Made of compressed #6 shot, Glaser Silver delivers larger segments, deep penetration, and controlled terminal energy transfer. In International Ballistic Wound Association (IWBA) testing, Glaser Silver Safety Slugs produced 8-10 inches of penetration.

These rounds are made with high-quality boxer primers, and reloadable brass casings. Featuring a round nose profile, these loads deliver easy and reliable feeding, function, and extraction. Also engineered for reduced recoil, Glaser Silver allows for fast shot recovery and increased follow-up accuracy. Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 1650 feet per second, these loads generate 483 foot pounds of muzzle energy.
