Lake City 660 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

Located just 20 miles east of Kansas City, the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant is the government’s primary small arms ammo factory. It’s been in operation since 1941, with only a brief five year hiatus in between WWII and the Korean War.

Lake City is primarily concerned with making sure our Armed Forces have enough ammo for training and combat, but part of making sure we’re prepared means producing more ammo than our boys in uniform actually need. Hence Lake City’s frequent surpluses of 50 BMG ammo, which we are glad to be able to offer you now.

This is the plainest 50 BMG cartridge you’re going to find on the market. It’s armed with a simple 660 grain bullet, with the full gilding metal jacket it needs to comply with the rules concerning international warfare. That jacket encompasses a magnetic mild steel core. (Normal lead wouldn’t be strong enough to punch through the concrete barriers a 50 BMG has to dominate.)

This ammo is brass-cased. You’ll be able to test out your reloading skills on one of the biggest cartridges in commercial production. It’s not old milsurp, so it’s 100 percent non-corrosive. These 50 rounds come loose packaged together in a big box.
