50rds – 44-40 Magtech Cowboy Action Loads 200gr. LFN Ammo Details
This 44-40 Win cartridge from Magtech’s Cowboy Action Loads line of ammunition sports a 200 grain projectile, the same bullet weight that the caliber offered when it was first introduced by Winchester in 1873. Its lead flat nose bullet conveys a lot of benefits to this round’s performance. If you’d load it in a Model 1873, this round is essentially incapable of causing a magazine ignition. If you’d fire it at a paper target, it will punch out a clean and easily read hole; If you’d fire it at a steel target, it conveys even energy which will assuredly knock it over. If you’d utilize this round in self-defense, its lead bullet will deform during penetration to create a wide and debilitating wound channel. This cartridge further features a non-corrosive Boxer primer, so it’ll stay fresh and ready to fire for ages and help to keep your classic firearm’s bore intact. This round’s brass casing is factory fresh and ready for your reloading press once emptied as well.

I bought this for my new Winchester 1873 in .44-40. The ammo worked great. No problems.

Not happy with product. Have several boxes and several rounds from each box have to be pushed in with force. Some go in just fine but many have to be pushed in. This is with two different SAA revolvers. Then with my Henry lever gun a new problem, as you shoot and the rounds move down the tube the bullets start to slide into the cases and cause the gun to jam! Will just have to shoot what I have left in my revolvers. Will not buy this brand again. Very disappointed!

Finally got a chance to shoot this ammo in a 3rd generation Colt SAA. One chamber on the cylinder is a bit tight with any round I tried loading but all fired and good accuracy from 10 to 25 yards. At the on sale price I paid this ammo was well worth the purchase.

The rounds look good. I've had good experiences with Magtech cartridges. I have not had the opportunity to shoot any of this purchase; I expect they will perform very well.
