This cartridge’s chief cost-reducing feature is its bullet’s jacket. The FMJ’s copper exterior is plated to its lead core (as opposed to created via the conventional cup-and-draw method). Plated jackets aren’t compatible with ported barrels/compensators, which does limit which firearms you can safely fire this ammo in.
