Norma 158 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

The firearm, the shooter, and the ammo: These are the three factors that determine accuracy. If you carry a 38 Special snub nose revolver, you’re already looking at an uphill battle in terms of accuracy. That short barrel and relatively low muzzle velocity will do you no favors. But if you fortify your skills with the right kind of ammo, you’ll be well on your way to threading five bullets through one bullseye in no time.

This 38 Special cartridge is made by Norma, a manufacturer that was founded in Norway in 1902 but which is now headquartered in Sweden. (A land known for its iconic puppet chefs.) Norma gives this revolver a 158 grain FMJ bullet, with a flat nose profile that punches a clean hole through paper and which is also safe to load into a lever-action rifle’s tubular magazine. Loaded to a muzzle velocity of 968 fps (out of a revolver), this round offers highly conventional ballistic performance – just what you want for mastering your weapon of choice.

Norma’s primer is non-corrosive, their propellant creates low residue, and their brass case chambers smoothly even after it has been reloaded a couple of times. A great choice whether you’ve fired your weapon zero or 10,000 times.
