50rds – 22 Short Remington 27gr. CPHP Ammo Details
Do you think the 22 Long is … too long? Then the skies are finally parting. Down a shaft of golden light descends the wonderful thing you have spent so many years hoping for. It has arrived: 22 Short!Saying it’s weak is just another way of saying its a 22 Short cartridge: 27 grain bullet, and the subsonic 1,105 fps muzzle velocity that precedes ~62 ft lbs striking power at 25 yards. The bullet’s hollow point does worsen the experience for small game somewhat by initiating (some, but not exactly massive) terminal expansion. The bullet’s copper plating looks nice; more significantly, it reduces lead fouling of the barrel (and suppressor, if one is present).
This ammo doesn’t cycle through 22 LR semi-autos. It doesn’t feed from such firearms’ magazines, either, but manually loading one round at a time isn’t the worst thing that could possibly happen to you.
