500rds – 22 LR Gemtech Silencer Subsonic 42gr. LRN Ammo Details

We all know the speed of sound is 1,125 fps. It’s the kind of factoid you rattle off in your brain while you’re trying to go to sleep, along with embarrassing memories of things you did in high school and everyone probably still remembers about you.

Well, guess what Gemtech has done? If you answered “Loaded this 22 LR ammunition to a muzzle velocity of 1,020 fps, which is the dictionary definition of ‘subsonic,’ and therefore ideal if you are trying to minimize your firearm’s noise signature, and optimal for suppressor performance,” then get yourself a big, celebratory cigar and smoke it. You are as correct as it’s humanly possible to be! If only your high school classmates could see you now, and appreciate how correct you’ve become!

This American-made brick of 22 LR is loaded with lead round nose bullets – the simplest kind of 22 LR bullets. Note how they weigh 42 grains instead of the usual 40. That’s part of the reason why they’re subsonic, albeit still potent enough to operate semi-autos. The heavier bullet may move slower, but it also builds up a normal amount of pressure behind it. Other than getting "USED" to firing a round then Running down Range to hold up the Target these Sub-Sonic 22 bullets work just fine--If I wasn't winded a couple of times I believe the accuracy would be better also--Great--Thanks
