This shell stores two critical things inside its 3” length: 1-1/4 ounces of #6 lead shot, and a little heap of propellant which sends that shot flying at a velocity of 1,300 fps. More shot. Higher muzzle velocity. The dense and deadly spread which quickly intercepts and puts an end to upland game.

This shell’s higher muzzle velocity could have caused its shot pellets to flatten down and become less good at patterning. But thanks to Federal’s hard lead and shock-absorbing one-piece wad, pellet sphericity remains intact until it can start serving its purpose.
