Ever watched Unforgiven? There’s a line in it – “the duck of death” – that has always stuck with us over the years. We’re reminded of it now because we have something very similar in stock: “the death of duck,” aka Hevi-Steel.

Since their origin in Oregon to their new factory in Missouri, Hevi has always made proper waterfowl hunting ammo. This 12 Gauge specimen packs a 1-1/8 ounce dose of #3 steel shot – a leading cause of death among duckkind. Steel’s not as dense as lead and doesn’t strike as hard at the same velocity. That’s why this shell has a much, much higher muzzle velocity than average. At 1,500 fps, it ensures those nontoxic #3 poppy seeds reach way, way out there and still deal serious damage.

Between its hard, uniform shot and hardworking full-length wad, a Hevi-Steel shell has everything it needs to pattern tightly until it can score a clean KO. There’s a nice high cap on that hull, too. A semi-auto will know just what to do with that.
