This shell’s two types of shot sit in layers. At the bottom sits #4 steel shot, which comprises 85% of the column. At the top sits #4 bismuth, which is 1.8 g/cc denser than the shot just below. That doesn’t sound like a huge difference, but by packing that much more weight into the same area, the bismuth shot is able to kill ducks at ranges up to 41% farther away.

Both of Hevi’s shot pellets are compliant with hunting ammo laws banning lead projectiles. Both are also intensely spherical and supported by the American company’s best wad. These ensure tight patterning, which makes the round’s colossal 1,500 fps muzzle velocity all the more effective at downing fowl.
