The shell carries 1-1/8 ounces of steel shot which is legal for use at government-controlled hunting territories that have banned lead for environmental reasons. The #3 size pellets are great big geese and ducks and are protected by a cupped wad to keep them from flattening. This effort allows rounder pellets to group tighter for dense patterns and effective penetration through thick layers of skin and feathers.
