This shotshell is loaded with one ounce of #6.5 steel shot (0.105” diameter pellets). We all know steel is susceptible to corrosion, which can roughen shot pellets’ exteriors and cause them to pattern inefficiently. That’s why Xpert steel is specially treated to resist becoming corroded!

Steel is not as dense as lead, which means a steel shot pellet can possess too little momentum downrange to produce the desired result.
