20rds – 9mm +P Underwood 68gr. Xtreme Defender Ammo Details

Two notes of caution: (1) This is 9mm +P ammo, and only to be fired in guns that are designed to accommodate its stiff chamber pressure; and (2) this ammo is not intended for aftermarket SIG Sauer P365 barrels.

This round is a hotshot – an overpressure load, which tosses its squeaker of a 68 grain bullet at an almost silly muzzle velocity of 1,800 fps! But the bullet doesn’t merely strike hard. As Lehigh Defense’s all-copper Xtreme Defender, it is also able to penetrate to a depth of up to 18” within soft tissue, as well as excavate a wound cavity up to twice as wide as a conventional JHP can manage.

Underwood’s propellant is formulated to minimize muzzle flash – an enormous help in the dark where bright light could temporarily blind you. Their cases are plated in nickel to protect them against corrosion and help them create less friction as they slide in and out of the chamber.
