20rds - 8X57 JS Hornady Match 196gr. BTHP Vintage Ammo Details

Joyce Hornady founded his company in 1949 as a simple two-man operation. From that humble foundation, Hornady has evolved into one of the most influential names in the ammo industry. Hornady Ammunition can best be described with three simple words - accurate, deadly, and dependable.

Hornady Vintage Match ammunition is specially engineered to accurately replicate original military specs of vintage rifles like the Mauser, Lee-Enfield, and Swedish Mauser. Perfect for competitive shooting, Hornady Vintage Match provides an affordable match-grade alternative to expensive hand loads.

Each factory fresh 8mm Mauser (8x57mm JS) is loaded with a 196 grain boat tail hollow point projectile. The propellant in each cartridge is carefully formulated to produce optimal pressure, velocity, and consistent accuracy. Each round produces a consistent muzzle velocity of 2500 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 2720 foot pounds.

This ammunition is loaded in premium brass cases carefully selected for consistent weight, internal capacity, and wall concentricity. All Hornady Vintage Match loads are held to exacting tolerances and pass stringent quality control measures before leaving the production facility. With impressive lot-to-lot consistency, Hornady Vintage Match puts the company goal of “ten bullets through one hole” within reach of vintage rifle shooters. Each package contains 20 rounds.

This is, by far, the best ammo in my Yugo Mauser. Very accurate and powerful; it makes a great hog round and deer round. The bullets actually weigh 200 to 202 grain and I've chrono'd the ammo at just shy of 2500 ft./sec.
