The SST has a secant ogive profile and tapered base which together substantially decrease the amount of drag it encounters in flight -- that means a higher ballistic coefficient and accordingly greater energy delivery on impact. The SST’s polymer tip wedges deep into its lead core starting at the moment of impact, initiating fast yet controlled expansion that kills without fail when placed correctly.
